A Hidden Snare

When you have strength, determination, resources, knowledge, and plans, then you have independence. When you are able to “stand on your own two feet” and accomplish your goals, then you are independent. When you are independent, you are strong . . . or so you think. The Truth is that those sought-after states are traps. Independence is a flavored poison or a hidden snare. 1 Corinthians 10:12-13  12 Therefore let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall. 13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. Isaiah 55:8 For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD. Isaiah 65:2 All day long I have held out My hands to an obstinate people, who walk in the wrong path, who follow their own imaginations Colossians 2:8 Be careful that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deceit based on human tradition, based on the elemental forces of the world, and not based on Christ. Proverbs 16:18 Pride comes before destruction, and an arrogant spirit before a fall. 1 Corinthians 8:1-3 We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. 2 The one who thinks he knows something does not yet know as he ought to know. 3 But the one who loves God is known by God. Philippians 4:9 And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Removing Sin’s Splinter

Be still, quiet and at peace like a child who holds still knowing that the parent will do what is needed to remove the splinter from his hand. Then We can continue to move forward on Our journey together unhindered. Receive correction, cleansing and training. Then We walk forward without delay. All things are made brand new. No looking back. 1 Peter 5:6 6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, 7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. Hebrews 12:4 In your struggle against sin you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. 5 And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons, “My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor be weary when reproved by him. 6 For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives.”7 It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline?
